- 6-6:30 PM Review of Preferred Strategies 6:30-8 PM Community Housing Game and Implementation Deep- Dive Who: Open to all residents and stakeholders of Kearns, Magna, White City, and Unincorporated Salt Lake County. What: Open Houses to review new State Code requirements regarding Moderate Income Housing and provide feedback on preferred community strategies. The public will also be engaged in planning of implementation programs. Why: Ensure compliance with new Legislation and implement community housing vision by October 1st, 2022. Background: In 2019, Kearns, Magna, White City, and Unincorporated Salt Lake County adopted Moderate Income Housing Plans in compliance with new State Legislation. In 2022, Utah again modified its requirements relating to Moderate Income Housing strategies and implementation efforts. The changes trigger a need for communities to amend their existing plans prior to October 1st, 2022. MSD Planning Staff, in collaboration with municipalities and the County, will guide this effort. Event Details: July 13th: Staff will guide participants through a community-specific housing game and deeper discussions regarding implementation of selected Moderate Income Housing strategies.
