NOTICE OF PROPOSED BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT AND PUBLIC HEARING At its August 22, 2018 meeting, the South Salt Lake City Council adopted a resolution of intent to adjust the municipal boundary South Salt Lake has in common with Salt Lake City. A parcel at 2508 South 500 East is owned by South Salt Lake, but is within Salt Lake City's boundaries. The proposed boundary adjustment removes the parcel from Salt Lake City and it would be annexed into South Salt Lake. The proposal is to develop the parcel into park space for the adjacent Columbus Community Center and be available to residents of and visitors to both cities. No other property in the vicinity would be impacted by the adjustment. The South Salt Lake City Council will hold a public hearing on the boundary adjustment at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the Council Chambers of South Salt Lake City Hall located at 220 East Morris Avenue, South Salt Lake, Utah 84115. The South Salt Lake City Council will adjust the above referenced boundaries unless, at or before the public hearing, a written protest to the adjustment is filed to the City Recorder at South Salt Lake City Hall by a property owner described in Utah State Code Section 10-2-419 sub (3) (d). The subject boundary adjustment area will, because of the boundary adjustment, be automatically annexed to a local district providing fire protection, paramedic and emergency services or a local district providing law enforcement service as the case may be, as provided in Utah State Code section 17B-1-416. The subject area proposed for annexation to the City of South Salt Lake will be automatically withdrawn from Salt Lake City provided fire protection, paramedic and emergency services, as provided in Utah State Code subsection 17B-1-502 (2). Municipal services provided by Salt Lake City to the subject property will be discontinued unless such services are provided by interlocal agreement. (R 18-19)
