NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Salt Lake County is hosting a public open house on Tuesday, April 3, 5:30-7pm, at the Salt Lake County Government Center, South Building Atrium, 2001 South State Street, SLC, UT.
At the open house, the County will display recommended Opportunity Zones within Salt Lake County's geographic boundaries and collect public feedback. Feedback will then be sent to Utah Governor Gary Herbert for his consideration.
The Opportunity Zones program was established by Congress in the 2017 Tax Cut and Job Act. Eligible Opportunity Zones are 'low-income communities,' determined by the US census tract. Salt Lake County first worked with local municipalities to identify their preferred Opportunity Zone designations, then sent the required 16 countywide recommendations to regional planning organization Wasatch Front Regional Council for delivery to Governor Herbert.
