Under the direction of President Barack Obama, Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert, has authorized all state agencies to lower the Flag of the United States of America and the Flag of the State of Utah immediately, today, Friday, November 6, 2009 as a mark of respect honoring the victims of the tragedy at Fort Hood, Texas. The flags shall be flown at half-staff on all state-owned facilities until sunset on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

Herbert, has authorized all state agencies to lower the Flag of the United States of America and the Flag of the State of Utah in honor of Private First Class Kimble Han who was killed Oct. 23, 2009, in Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The flags shall be flown at half-staff on all state-owned facilities from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
