Call Meeting to Order

DISCUSSION ITEMS:
1.	Next training session. October 11, 2008, Salt Lake City Police Department, Sponsor contacted? Location announced on the database? November 13, 2008 in St George?
2.	Final determination on the accepted use of the Utah Drivers Privilege Card.
3.	The RFP (Request for Proposals) for the Registration Database has been issued. The Director has requested nominations for members to evaluate the submitted proposals. Law Enforcement, Secondhand Merchant, and Pawn representative. The Director will notify those selected. The state will then make the determination on the accepted bid.
4.	Update on progress of Secondhand Merchants registering. Contacts are being made with possible merchants needing to be registered. The Rules and Exemptions process is proceeding through the Division for submission to the Legislature. 
5.	What are some of the suggested changes or adjustments to the statute that need to be made? Reasons and justifications. These suggestions will be forwarded through the Director and Legislature for consideration. 
6.	Have there been any other requests for additions or changes to the statutes other than the addition of Antique Dealers? 
7.	What may be done by local business licensing entities to assist in compliance issues?
Ensure that businesses have complied with registration and payment of fees before issuing or renewal of a business license. 
8. 	Open discussion on issues to be addressed for the future. Suggestions or improvements?
9.	Suggestions for training objectives for 2009. Subjects and areas of concern?
10.	Turn in the attendance rosters of past training events. Vernal and Provo lists.
11.	Kari Roberts- SLCPD- Report -Serial numbers and consistency in data input by shops. 
12.	Meeting adjourned.
