HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS HEARING For The CITY OF TAYLORSVILLE The City of Taylorsville invites the residents to participate in a Community Development Block Grant needs hearing. The City Officials are requesting citizen comments on what the priorities should be for Community Development and Housing activities that will sustain and/or improve Taylorsville. This is in preparation of the One Year Action Plan. The City is asking for citizen input in defining its future needs. The hearing will be held in the Taylorsville City Council Chambers located at 2600 West Taylorsville Boulevard, Taylorsville on November 16, 2016 at 6:30 PM. Citizens may also submit written comments on Community needs. The comments may be addressed to 'CDBG Needs,' 2600 West Taylorsville Boulevard, Taylorsville, UT. 84129. Translation services are available upon request. Please call (801) 963-5400 at least 24 hours in advance. The TDD and relay number is 1 800 346-4128. The City of Taylorsville furnishes appropriate auxiliary aids when requested to afford individuals with vision or hearing disabilities the equal opportunity to participate in any federal activity. This is available 24 hours in advance. Taylorsville City Hall is accessible and meets the American Disability Act. The City will make any reasonable accommodation if notified 24 hours in advance by calling (801) 963-5400. CDBG APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE The City of Taylorsville Department of Community Development announces the Applications for the FY 2017-2018 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program will be available on November 1, 2016. Applications may be obtained at the City of Taylorsville Offices at 2600 West Taylorsville Boulevard or they will be available online November 1, 2016 from the Taylorsville City website at www.taylorsvilleut.gov. Applications are due by 4:30 PM December 5, 2016. Applications must be submitted to the City Offices by this date in order to be considered for funding for FY 2017-2018. Late applications will not be accepted. CDBG Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER.) For TAYLORSVILLE CITY 2015-2016 On October 24, 2016 the City of Taylorsville will make available for public review and comment the FY 2015-2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER.). The report reviews the accomplishments and status of activities funded by the CDBG Program during the last year. The document will be available at the Taylorsville City offices at 2600 West Taylorsville Blvd. Public comments regarding the CAPER are welcome and should be submitted in writing to Kathy Ricci, 2600 West Taylorsville Blvd., Taylorsville, UT 84129 on or before November 8, 2016. Oral comments may be given at any City Council Meeting until November 16, 2016. The City of Taylorsville provides a fair housing element within their Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER). This plan assists the City to overcome any fair housing issues. Fair housing is defined as equal fair housing access to any type of family or individual, regardless of race/ethnicity, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status, or disability. Ensuring fair housing choice for these persons is federal law according to the Federal Fair Housing Act as amended in 1988. The City of Taylorsville is encouraging efforts to solicit citizen participation in the CAPER preparation process. The City encourages all protected classes to participate in this process regardless of race/ethnicity, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status or disability. The City will take comments in regards to the fair housing element of the CAPER from October 24, 2016 to November 9, 2016.
