PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Sandy City, Utah intends to prepare proposed amendments to the Sandy City Land Development Code. The proposed Code Amendments will consider the following: Amend Title 15A, Chapter 2, General Provisions, Land Development Code, Revised Ordinances of Sandy City, 2008. The purpose of the Code Amendment is to consider adding provisions that would allow the City to enter into development agreements. Another change to this Chapter would be to clarify that water drainage is not allowed to flow upon adjacent properties without an appropriate easement. Amend Title 15A, Chapter 23, Commercial, Office, Industrial, and Transit Corridor Development Standards, Land Development Code, Revised Ordinances of Sandy City, 2008. The purpose of the Code Amendment is to consider removing a portion of the Administrative Code, specific to the authority of the Public Utilities Director, and add this to the Land Development Code. This language is related to approving alternatives to undergrounding existing utility lines when found to be currently impractical and would be part of a future large scale project. Amend Title 15A, Chapters 7, Land Uses in Residential Districts, 8, Land Uses in Commercial, Office, Industrial, Mixed Use, Transit Corridor, and Research and Development Districts, and 37, Definitions, Land Development Code, Revised Ordinances of Sandy City, 2008. The purpose of the Code Amendment is to define 'public plaza' and then identify which residential and commercial zones this use would be allowed in. Another change with this amendment would be to modify the definition of a public park. Amend Title 15A, Chapter 20, Residential Development Standards, Land Development Code, Revised Ordinances of Sandy City, 2008. The purpose of the Code Amendment is to reintroduce language in the code that would regulate the side yard setbacks for new residential projects, over one acre in size, within any RM Zoning District. These proposed Code Amendments will be heard in a public hearing that will be held in the Sandy City Hall, Council Chambers, 10000 Centennial Parkway (170 West), Sandy, Utah, before the Sandy City Planning Commission on October 6, 2016 at approximately 6:15 pm. There will be another public hearing before the City Council, at the same location, on October 11, 2016 at approximately 7:05 pm.
