RIVERTON CITY DISTRICT 2 COUNCIL MEMBER VACANCY Riverton City must announce that as of June 17, 2014, the Riverton City Council seat for District 2 became vacant due to the recent passing of Councilmember Roy D. Tingey. Pursuant to Utah Code Section 20A-1-510, the Riverton City Council must appoint a registered voter by the date of July 17 to fill the vacancy office of Riverton City Council, District 2. The eligible appointee must reside within District 2 and meet the qualifications to hold public office, as established under Utah Code Section 10-3-301. Please take notice that on the date of July 15, 2014, beginning at 6:30 pm, the Riverton City Council will consider whom to appoint to serve as a councilmember for District 2, until January following the next election for the Riverton City Council, which will occur in November, 2015. Qualified persons who are interested in serving as a councilmember until November of 2015 are invited to contact the Riverton City Recorder to submit their name and basic information to demonstrate that they meet all qualifications established under Utah law to hold office for Riverton City Council, District 2. The Riverton City Recorder may be contacted any time from Monday to Friday, during the hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, until the deadline date of July 11, 2014, for interested persons to submit their respective names and qualifying information. The Riverton City Recorder?s office is located at 12830 South 1700 West; Phone: 801-208-3126. A Riverton City Council Districts Map is attached.

Accessible parking and entrance are located on the south end of the building with elevator access to the City Council Chambers located on the second floor.
