PROVO CITY CORPORATION DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Planning Commission Agenda May 28, 2014 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION The Provo City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers of the Provo City Center, located at 351 West Center Street. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public hearing, a briefing will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room, located at 330 West 100 South. The briefing is open to the public; however, formal presentation of items, public comment and actions will be reserved for the public hearing at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers. Discussion Items ITEM 1 Final report from the consultant (Placemakers) regarding redevelopment plans for the City Center blocks. Public Hearings ITEM 1* Review and recommendation from Planning Commission to Municipal Council regarding the Joaquin Neighborhood Plan. Joaquin Neighborhood 14-0001GPA, Bill Peperone, 801-852-6402 **MOVED** ITEM 2 Gardner and Associates, agent for DPI LC, requests preliminary subdivision plat approval for the Cougar Hill Subdivision, Plat `A`, of approximately 4.17 acres, on the property located generally at 2000 North 150 East in the R1.8S (On-Family Residential with Supplementary Apartment Overlay) zone. Pleasant View Neighborhood 13-0004SP, Brian Maxfield, 801-852-6429 THIS ITEM IS BEING MOVED TO THE JUNE 4, 2014 ADMINISTRATIVE HEARING. ITEM 3* Barbara Ferre?, property manager for Courtyard at Jamestown Associates, is requesting an amendment to Section 14.47.020.Permitted Uses in the Specialty Support Commercial (SSC) zone, to include Standard Land Use #5950, the retail sale of Sporting Goods, Bicycles and Toys within the zone. Riverside Neighborhood and City Wide 14-0008OA, Brian Maxfield, 801-852-6429 ITEM 4* The firms Gardner & Associates, and PEG Development, are requesting text amendments to Section 14.21A.030(4) of the Provo City Zoning Ordinance, to allow nonresidential uses as an optional rather than a required use on the first floor of buildings fronting Center Street east of 100 East and west of 500 West, and on the portion of University Avenue south of Center Street, all within the DT1 ?General Downtown? zoning district. The Council hearing dates will be noticed 14 days prior to the Council meeting in the legal notices of the Daily Herald. Decisions on the unmarked items may be appealed to the Board of Adjustment by making application with the Community Development Department by 6:00 p.m. within 14 days of the Planning Commission decision. Copies of the agenda materials, public hearing procedure, and staff recommendations are available the week of the hearing at reasonable cost in the Community Development office between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
