SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert and Lieutenant Governor Greg Bell are pleased to announce the 5th Annual Native American Summit, Sept. 1-2 at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center.

This Summit promises to be a valuable opportunity for highly qualified individuals to lead discussions with conference participants. The Native American Summit is an important forum for the exchange of ideas between participants, presenters and others who follow the event.

The two-day event will include presentations by keynote speaker Lance Morgan, president of Oh-Chunk Incorporation and representatives from Utah's seven tribal governments. Presentations will focus on Healthcare, Education, Economic Development and Homeland Security.

State and Tribal leaders in attendance will include: Governor Herbert; Lieutenant Governor Bell; UTLC Chairman Kenneth Maryboy, Navajo Nation; Marlinda Moon, Skull Valley Band of Goshutes; Vice Chair Francis Poowegup, Ute Indian Tribe; Chairwoman Gwen Davis, Northwestern Band of Shoshone Nation; Chairman Rupert Steele, Confederated Tribes of Goshute Indians; and Chairwoman Jeanine Borchardt, Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah.

Other participants will include city and county officials, staff from state and tribal agencies, and representatives from various private entities.
