| "We
will enable people to conduct business with government online 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year." --Governor
Mike Leavitt
Economic competitiveness
in the 21st Century requires interaction with government that is
efficient and seamless. Governor Leavitt has set an aggressive
e-government goal of offering all appropriate state government
services online by 2004. He desires to remove the economic friction
from interacting with government. This means providing government
services conveniently and efficiently. Just think of it as providing
services online, not in line.
This goal becomes
a reality with the state's award-winning website, Utah.gov, and
state government's initiatives to expand broadband access and promote
paperless government.
