Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert will announce a new initiative, "The Military to Civilian Crosswalk for Accelerated Employment Opportunities Project."  This project will allow Utah military veterans and Utah National Guard members to match their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) with civilian occupational codes, allowing veterans to count their service experience toward a specialized license or educational requirement and re-enter the job market.

First Lady Jeanette Herbert will participate in a reading event with the Intermountain Therapy Animals (I.T.A.) R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program. Previously, Mrs. Herbert donated books (LaRue Across America, by Mark Teague) to Copperview Elementary, a Title I school. The event will be attended by 30-40 first grade students, I.T.A R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) Teams, I.T.A administration and school administration.

Herbert will address high school students through a first-ever statewide broadcast from a Utah governor.  The Governor's address will be broadcast via the Utah Education Network (UEN) from the USU/CEU center in Blanding and will be available via livestream to every high school in the state.
