Governor to Recognize Robert Redford

WHAT: Governor Gary R. Herbert will host a non-partisan, non-political, black tie event to recognize Robert Redford for helping showcase and contribute to Utah through his art, vision and entrepreneurial spirit. The event is entitled, "The Governor's Salute to Robert Redford: A Utah Tribute to an American Icon."
WHY: Robert Redford has made his distinctive mark on the Beehive State through the Sundance Resort, Sundance Catalog and the non-profit Sundance Institute which hosts the annual Sundance Film Festival. The economic impact of the Sundance Film Festival alone over the last five years has totaled more than $375 million, supporting 8,200 local jobs and attracting more than 219,000 visitors to Utah.
