Governor to Announce Water Plan Advisory Team at the Utah Water Summit The next steps in developing a 50-year water plan will be discussed.
WHAT: Governor Gary R. Herbert will announce the next steps in the process to develop a 50-year water vision for Utah. To lead out this effort, the Governor will organize the State Water Plan Advisory Team.
In addition, the summit will review what the public said about Utah's water future at eight listening sessions and nearly 800 online comments over the summer months.
WHY: Ensuring a secure water future is one of the Governor's top priorities for the State. It is critical for Utah to plan now for long-term water needs. Now is the time for leadership to work together and build a plan that will provide adequate water supplies while minimizing cost and protecting the environment.
