Governor Will Address Suicide Prevention and Ceremonially Sign Student Safety Bills

What: Governor Gary R. Herbert will speak with Cyprus High School students about preventing youth suicide. He will also ceremonially sign:
- H.B. 134 Parental Notification Related To Student Safety
- H.B. 154 Suicide Prevention Programs
- H.B. 298 Parent Seminar On Youth Protection
- H.B. 318 Classroom Size Revisions
- H.B. 103 Wireless Telephone Use Restrictions
Why: The Governor is deeply concerned about the high rate of youth suicide in Utah. According to the Utah Department of Health, suicide is the second leading cause of death for Utah youth and young adults.

Where: Media Center, Cyprus High School - 8623 West 3000 South, Magna.
Visuals: The Governor will sit with students and legislators in the Cyprus High School Media Center. Students will interact with the governor during a question and answer session. Legislative sponsors will accompany the Governor for ceremonial bill signings.
