Governor Visits Richfield/Gunnison Area on "Capitol for a Day" Tour

SALT LAKE CITY - Today Governor Gary R. Herbert will visit Richfield and Gunnison as part of his "Capitol for a Day" tours. The purpose for the visit is to allow the host city to become the workplace for the Governor and some of his senior staff, providing an opportunity to get out into local communities and visit with Utahns.
"It's a privilege to get out among the people in Richfield and Gunnison," said the Governor. "Our rural communities are a vital part of the state's economy, lifestyle and way of life. It's important for me to get out and visit, learn of their challenges, and celebrate their successes."
While in Richfield and Gunnison, the Governor will meet with residents, local leaders and officials at the following locations:
- 10:00 AM, Arch Coal Teacher Award, Gunnison High School - The Governor will recognize five outstanding area educators who received prestigious Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Awards.
- 12:00 PM, Richfield Chamber of Commerce - Meet with local and regional business leaders.
- 2:00 PM, Rocky Mountain Power, Sigurd-Red Butte Ground Breaking - The Governor will acknowledge the continued growth of Utah's energy infrastructure.
- 2:45 PM, Dept. of Workforce Services - As part of State Employee Appreciation Day, the Governor will meet employees at the Richfield Employment Center and thank them for their hard work on behalf of the people of Utah.
