Governor asks Utahns to Join Connecticut in Moment of Silence

What: Governor Dannel P. Malloy of Connecticut has declared Friday, December 21, as a Day of Mourning. He is asking all citizens of Connecticut to observe a moment of silence at 9:30 AM for the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary. Places of worship and government buildings, which have the ability, are encouraged to ring bells 26 times, representing each of the 26 victims. Governor Malloy invited other states to observe the moment of silence at 9:30 AM, in their own time zone.
Governor Gary R. Herbert invites all Utah citizens to observe the moment of silence. In addition, he has authorized the Capitol bells to ring 26 times. The bells will then play one of Emilie Parker's favorite songs, "Angels we have Heard on High."
