Governor Orders Lowering of Flags for Wisconsin Shooting Victims

Follows Presidential Proclamation
Salt Lake City - In conjunction with President Barack Obama's proclamation ordering the Flag of the United States of America to be flown at half-staff upon certain federal facilities, Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert today authorized the lowering of the Flag of the United States of America and the Flag of the State of Utah on all state facilities as a mark of respect for the victims of the tragedy in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.
Governor Herbert also issued the following statement regarding the tragedy:
We are shocked and deeply saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin. At this time we extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to those victims and their families.
The flags shall be lowered to half-staff on all state facilities, effective immediately, and shall remain lowered until sunset, August 10, 2012.
