Salt Lake City, Utah - Utah Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., new Chief of Staff, Neil Ashdown announced today that Mike Mower has been appointed to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff. He currently serves as the Legislative and Constituent Affairs Liaison. "Mike has a great ability to bring people together on issues and has been and will continue to be critical to moving our policy forward," said Governor Huntsman.

 

Mower was formerly the Director of Community and Government Relations for Provo City. He was the media spokesperson and government affairs coordinator for Wasatch Constructors during the rebuilding of I-15 in Salt Lake County and served as District Director for Congressman Chris Cannon.

 

Mower was raised in Ferron, Utah and graduated from Emery County High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a juris doctor degree from the University Of Utah College Of Law. He was the Senior Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake and President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Utah State Bar.

 

In addition, Ashdown announced that Anna Atwater has been named as Policy Coordinator in Governor Huntsman's Office. Atwater has extensive State government experience, having worked as a Budget and Policy Analyst in the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget and as Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy. Atwater is a native of Davis County. She received a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Brigham Young University.
