Evacuees Receive Bus Passes and New Route Service begins today from Camp Williams to TRAX

Camp Williams, Utah - Starting today, The Utah Transit Authority (UTA), will implement special bus service for the evacuees of Hurricane Katrina. The service will take evacuees between Camp Williams and the TRAX Sandy Civic Center Station (10000 South), with one stop along the way at South Towne Mall. Once on TRAX evacuees can access downtown Salt Lake City and entire UTA system with passes provided by UTA.

Starting Wednesday, departing buses will leave Camp Williams three times daily at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Return trips will leave the TRAX Sandy Civic Center Station at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. each day, stopping at South Towne Mall.

Today, one bus will depart Camp Williams at 2 p.m. and return trips will leave the TRAX Sandy Civic Center Station at 5 & 6 p.m. Due to limited seating, space on the bus will be reserved for the evacuees and not members of the news media. The media will have access at South Towne Mall and at the TRAX station.
