Governor Gary R. Herbert will address high school students through a first-ever statewide broadcast from a Utah governor. The Governor's address will be broadcast via the Utah Education Network (UEN) from the USU/CEU center in Blanding and will be available via livestream to every high school in the state.
The Governor will address students on the importance of post-secondary education. The Governor will then take questions via interactive UEN feeds from students in Rich High School (Randolph, UT), Orem High School, and Murray High School. Students from San Juan High School in Blanding will join the Governor in the USU/CEU center during the broadcast.
Representative Ronda Menlove, USU Provost, will also be participating in the broadcast from her office in Logan. The student body president of San Juan High School, Kendra Parker, will introduce the Governor.
Wednesday, October 12, 2011, 10:15 to 11:00 AM (broadcast 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM).
Murray High School, 147 East 5065 South, Room 303, Murray. Media representatives are invited to view the broadcast with the students of Murray High School. Students and teachers at Murray High School will be available for interviews following the Governor's broadcast.
A downloadable file of the Governor's broadcast will be provided on the UEN website at the conclusion of the broadcast (a link will be distributed via email).
The Governor will be in Blanding and other parts of Southeastern Utah on the second day of his statewide Rural Jobs Tour.
