Memorial Day message from Utah Governor Jon Huntsman

"On this Memorial Day, we take time to honor the men and women who have given their lives for our freedoms. It is with reflection and respect we, as citizens of the greatest State in America, commemorate the sacrifices, the ultimate sacrifices, that have been made on our behalf. The men and women who wear the uniform, no matter the branch they claim or the rank on their sleeve, have given their all for the benefit of everyone. We owe them sincere thanks.

"Mary Kaye and I have pondered seriously the tragic losses our State and our Country have endured since waging this War on Terrorism. Our hearts and our prayers go out to all families who have ever lost a loved one to the fight for freedom and the terrible reality of war.

"The loss has been great, but it has not been in vain. May we always remember those who have died to keep us free."
