SALT LAKE CITY - Governor Gary R. Herbert issued the following statement today regarding the death of Sevier County Sheriff Sgt. Franco Aguilar.
 
"Our thoughts are with Sgt. Aguilar's family at this difficult time. Sgt. Aguilar was a trusted and dedicated member of the law enforcement community and an example to those around him. He served his state and his country with honor, and his efforts on our behalf will not be forgotten."
 
"Jeanette and I offer our deepest condolences to Sgt. Aguilar's wife and children, as well as Sevier County Sheriff Phil Barney and the entire Sevier County Sheriff's Office."
 
Governor Herbert has ordered that flags at all state offices be lowered until sunset on Saturday, May 1, in honor of Sgt. Aguilar.
