Passover Message from Utah Governor Jon Huntsman
Salt Lake City - As Passover begins at sundown this evening, I wish observers well during this time of reflection and symbolism.
Mary Kaye and I are preparing to enjoy Passover Seder tonight with Representative David Litvack and our families. I am humbled by this long-standing tradition of freedom and family and celebrating the liberation of the Children of Israel from slavery.
The Passover Seder offers the Jewish people a wonderful opportunity to clear from their homes and minds the distractions of the world and focus on their families. The themes of the Seder, slavery and freedom, mark the celebration of faith and hope and serve as a reminder about the freedoms we enjoy today.
As Passover begins, my family adds our prayers for a better world to those observing this sacred time.
The Passover Seder at the Mansion tonight has been changed and will begin at 7 p.m.
