WHO: First Lady Mary Kaye Huntsman

WHAT: First Lady Huntsman will speak with elementary school students about the importance of reading and literacy, as well as read one of her favorite books to them.

When & Where:
  • March 2: 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monte Vista Elementary 11121 S. 2700 W. South Jordan
  • March 2: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Altara Elementary 800 E. 11000 S. Sandy
  • March 4: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Copper Hills Elementary 7635 W. 3715 S. Magna
  • March 8: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Christmas Box House School 3660 S. West Temple Salt Lake City (school does not allow media)
Why: "Reading is a great means of exploring the world around us and developing an imagination," said First Lady Huntsman. "Through words on a page we can learn about foreign countries, human relations or make-believe lands while sitting in our kitchens or our classrooms."
