SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert has signed the official letter to appoint Jon Cox to Utah House District 58 in the Utah State Legislature. The appointment comes at the recommendation of the Republican Party delegates who selected Cox, a Sanpete County Commissioner, to replace Spencer J. Cox, who now serves as Utah Lieutenant Governor.

Herbert's annual Utah Health Summit was dominated by discussion surrounding whether the state should choose to expand its Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
